HISTORY
Born into the racing industry in New Zealand, and after winning multiple New Zealand motocross and supercross championships, Darryl Atkins set his goals on becoming a world or US motorcycle champion. A life threatening car accident ended Darryl’s quest to become a world motocross champion. He still went on to win multiple national motocross and supercross championships throughout Europe. Due to the nerve damage in his right shoulder Darryl turned his efforts towards racing American Supermoto when it was at its peak in the US. He then created his own factory Aprilia Rip it energy race team. Winning five US national Supermoto championship events and the teams championship, Darryl retired from 20 years of professional racing to work with brands within the industry who had supported him.
Today Darryl is the CEO and founder of Atkins Sports Management who offers brands US and worldwide distribution relationships and services with the strongest distributors around the world. Atkins Sports Management offers a US program for international brands wanting to break into the US market either via distributors, dealer direct or consumer direct. With the passion Darryl has for the sport his marketing arm of the business offers race teams, riders and events the opportunity to connect with partners to support their racing programs. Currently, Darryl works with all the major race teams in the US and offers them the connection to long term branding opportunities with corporate partners.
